ppie reads a scanned NDOT crash form and reports every box's value, its confidence, and where it was found -- no code interpretation, no guessing what a field "should" say. Drop in any of the forms it knows (it figures out which one on its own -- no need to tell it): Form 174 (Heavy Truck/Bus Supplement), Form 178 (Non-Motorist Supplement), Form 179 (Fatal Crash Report), Form 40 (Investigator's Motor Vehicle Crash Report), Form 40a (Investigator's Motor Vehicle Crash Continuation Report), DR-41 (Driver's Report of Motor Vehicle Crash). This is a browser demo of an engine built to run on real hardware. ppie is a heavy OCR / computer-vision pipeline meant to sit on-prem on an agency's own machine, where it works through a full multi-page crash packet in one pass. This page runs it on a small shared cloud box, so it reads the first 3 pages of whatever you drop in and stops there -- enough to see exactly what it does. Single-sheet forms come back whole. Uploads are processed in memory and discarded the moment the result comes back -- nothing is written to disk or logged here. Still, if you have one on hand, the sample scan above is the safer way to try this without handing over a real report.
